Troubleshooting

Air purifier filter light won't turn off?

In one line: most filter-change lights don't clear on their own after you fit a new filter — they run on a timer you have to reset manually, usually by holding a button for a few seconds. If it still won't clear, the filter isn't seated or a panel switch isn't engaging.

Why the light stays on

The indicator is typically a usage timer, not a real dust sensor — it counts hours of run time and lights up when the interval is reached. Fitting a new filter doesn't reset that timer automatically on most units; you have to tell the unit you've changed it.

How to reset it

  1. Fit the new filter and close the panel fully.
  2. Power the unit on.
  3. Hold the reset button — often the "Filter" / "Reset" button, or sometimes the power or a combination — for about 3–5 seconds until the light blinks or goes out. Check your model's manual for the exact button.

FAQ

Why is my air purifier filter light still red after changing the filter? The timer needs a manual reset — hold the reset button a few seconds. Also check the filter is fully seated and the panel closed.

Is the filter light a real sensor? Usually it's a run-time timer, not a dust sensor — which is why it must be reset by hand after a filter change.
